The International Student Mathematics Challenge (ISMC) evolved from the former Asian University Students' Innovative Mathematics Challenge. Before its transformation, the competition had attracted participation from students at numerous QS Top 500 institutions. Over its years of development, it has engaged hundreds of thousands of primary and secondary school pupils and received extensive coverage from over 500 authoritative global media outlets. The competition has secured official endorsement from the embassies of 63 Commonwealth member states in China and has been incorporated into the Commonwealth-China Navigator Programme Key Project.
